Resetting Network Settings on iPhone or iPad device

You should only perform these steps if you have been instructed to do so, or if your device is behaving strangely after a change of carrier or SIM card. You will lose your saved Wi-Fi networks after performing this reset, and there's no way around this. It will reset many behind-the-scenes settings that can cause you problems with using your voice or data plan features.


Please perform each step slowly


There will be an option within that can reset all data on your phone, so I will recommend you verify that a backup is in place beforehand – just to be safe.

  1. Go to Settings(Your Name)iCloudiCloud Backup
  2. Verify that the latest backup was performed recently. If not, tap Backup Now to perform a fresh backup.

Once you have verified your backup:

  1. Go to SettingsGeneralTransfer or Reset iPhone
  2. Tap Reset toward the bottom of the screen
  3. Tap Reset Network Settings within the list that you are shown.
  4. You will be prompted to enter your Unlock PIN to perform the reset. Enter this PIN.
  5. Your phone will restart, and should come back on pretty quickly.
  6. Remember to reconnect to Wi-Fi after this restart, and see if your problem or issue persists after the reset.
