-If you can get a friend or family member to chip in with you, and they need anti-virus as well, then by far the best bang for your buck is by purchasing the 5-device ($7/device/year) or 10-device ($4.50/device/year) pack.   Otherwise, you can purchase the $19.99 single-device package from Norton directly, and turn off the auto-renewal immediately after purchasing.  You'll just have to buy another key-card or purchase again when your expiration date nears.
-
-For those that are seriously pressed for cash, this option may or may not work for you.  It's slightly more complicated if you already have Norton installed on your computer.
-There is a 180-day trial available, and it will work for Windows versions up to Windows 7.  Here are the steps.
-  - If Norton is installed, then go to Control Panel, and Add/Remove Programs.  Uninstall Norton from there.
-  - If you removed Norton, then you'll also need to run the Norton Removal Tool after you restart. [[ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe|Download Norton Removal Tool]]
-  - Download [[http://haugtech.com/dl/norton180.exe|this installer file]], and run it.  It will likely need to update many times after installed, and you will need to provide your e-mail address (or sign in with an existing Norton account).  Be sure not to skip signing in with your e-mail address because it is less likely to work if you don't.
-  - Restart your computer several times, each time opening Norton and clicking on LiveUpdate.  Keep doing so until the updates are all completed.
-  - If all goes well, you should have 180-days remaining on your Norton Antivirus license!
